Turning Scraps Into Soil
The Pelican Cafe
We work with The Pelican Cafe and a dedicated local resident who sells plants to raise funds for a non-profit that provides support for the homeless.
We collect food scraps from The Pelican Cafe and turn them into nutrient-rich compost. This compost is then used to create high-quality soil, which we donate to a local woman who grows and sells plants. All the money raised from her plant sales goes directly to supporting local initiatives that help those in need.
Utilising Native Plants
IndigiScapes
IndigiScapes is a hub for environmental education, native plant conservation and bushland restoration. As a native plant nursery, botanical garden and cafe that incorporates bush tucker ingredients, IndigiScapes is dedicated to showcasing the beauty and benefits of Australia’s native flora.
At Guardians Garden and Tree Care, we source plants from IndigiScapes to promote the use of native species in our landscaping projects. We also participate in their community events, including weed identification workshops and reforestation days, where volunteers are guided through local ecosystems to learn about native and invasive species, plant trees and contribute to bush regeneration efforts.
